Evalyn Parry

Working in spoken word, music and theatre as a creator, performer, director and educator, evalyn parry makes her home in Toronto. She has released three critically acclaimed CDs of music and spoken word (most recently Small Theatres, on Borealis Records), and toured extensively around Canada and the USA: sometimes solo, sometimes with her fine band and sometimes with her theatre company, The Independent Aunties. Recent performance highlights include: Atlin Music Festival (BC), The Yukon International Storytelling Festival, Hillside Festival, The Lincoln Centre Out of Doors Roots of American Music Festival (New York), The Vancouver Storytelling Festival, The Toronto Storytelling Festival, and many more. With The Independent Aunties, she has co-authored and performed in five plays, including Clean Irene & Dirty Maxine(Buddies) & the Dora-nominated production Breakfast (Theatre Centre). evalyn's newest spoken word project, Spin: a duet for poet and bicycle is in development at Buddies in Bad Times Theatre in Toronto, where she is an Associate Artist.
