Richard Stevenson (Lethbridge)

Richard Stevenson

Richard Stevenson lives in Lethbridge and teaches Business Communication, Intro to Literature, Children's Literature, and Creative Writing classes at Lethbridge College.  He is the author of 22 books, a collaborative CD of jazz poetry and original jazz with Naked Ear, and 7 chapbooks, including, most recently, Wiser Pills (lyric/narrative poems, Frontenac House, 2008), Tidings of Magpies (haiku, senryu, tanka, Spotted Cow Press, 2008), and The Emerald Hour (haiku, senryu, tanka, and zappai, with b & w photos by Lethbridge photographer Ellen McArthur, Ekstasis Editions, 2008).  He also occasionally performs with the ad hoc kidlit musical troupe Sasquatch, doing a sort of Frank Zappaesque melange of jazz, r & b, funk,  rock and children's verse centred around cryptozoology and ET lore.
